ORIGEN Y CATEGORÍAS. La Medalla "Guardia Presidencial" fue creada por Resolución número 3446 del 17 de agosto de 1955 del Ministerio de Guerra, destinada a recompensar la lealtad, servicios distinguidos e intachable conducta de los miembros del Batallón Guardia Presidencial. La medalla ostenta las siguientes categorías: -Honoraria. -Mérito Militar.
