CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LA JOYA. La joya consiste en una medalla circular con un diámetro de cuarenta (40) milímetros, recubierta de oro. En el anverso lleva grabado el Escudo de la Caballería Colombiana, con la siguiente inscripción: "Por mi Dios, por mi Patria, por mi Arma". Al reverso lleva grabada la efigie de San Jorge. Va suspendida de una cinta de cuarenta (40) milímetros de ancho con cuatro (4) franjas verticales de diez (10) milímetros de ancho, de colores amarillo y negro, que se alternan iniciando con la de color amarillo. SECCIÓN "F" Medalla "Santa Bárbara".
