º PROPÓSITO. El propósito que se persigue al conferir las condecoraciones en las Fuerzas Militares, es el de honrar públicamente a sus miembros y personal ajeno a ellas, que se destaquen por actos de valor y servicios distinguidos en guerra internacional, o conmoción interior; virtudes militares y profesionales de carácter excepcional; consagración al estudio y a la investigación en beneficio de las instituciones militares, y servicios extraordinarios al conjunto de éstas o a cualquiera de sus componentes.
