CLASIFICACION. Las providencias que se dictan en el proceso penal, se denominan así

Sentencias, si deciden el objeto del proceso, previo el agotamiento del trámite de la instancia o de la casación.

Autos interlocutorios, si resuelven algún incidente o aspecto sustancial de la actuación, y

Autos de sustanciación, si se limitan a disponer cualquier otro trámite de los que la ley establece para dar curso a la actuación.
