En cumplimiento de lo previsto en el artículo anterior, el Centro Interamericano de Fotointerpretación se fusionará con el Instituto Geográfico "Agustín Codazzi", el cual, además de atender las funciones que le señala la ley y sus estatutos, tendrá las de docencia e investigación en materias de superficie terrestre y de su aplicación en las ramas geográficas, catastrales, forestales, de clasificación agrológica de los suelos y de diseño de construcción de obras civiles.
