Las Asambleas se reunirán ordinariamente cada año en la capital del Departamento, por un término de dos (2) meses. Los Gobernadores podrán convocarlas a sesiones extraordinarias para que se ocupen exclusivamente de los asuntos que ellos les sometan. La ley fijará la fecha de las sesiones ordinarias y el régimen de incompatibilidades de los Diputados. (Artículo 185, incisos 2º y 3º de la Constitución Política).
