El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, como organismo rector de las relaciones internacionales, dirige y promueve, en coordinación con el Ministerio de Agricultura, los asuntos de orden externo relacionados con la actividad pesquera. En tal virtud será convocado en forma permanente a las sesiones del Consejo Nacional de Pesca, Conalpes.
