Estarán exentas del impuesto de renta y patrimonio las nuevas explotaciones agropecuarias que se realicen en zonas de colonización de la Orinoquía, la Amazonía, el Chocó, la Guajira y las tierras no colonizadas que aún existen en la actual frontera agrícola. Estas últimas las determinará el Gobierno Nacional, con la colaboración del Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi. Esta exención regirá durante diez años, esta exención regirá durante diez años, a partir de la iniciación de la respectiva explotación.
