Control fiscal. Corresponde a la Contraloría General de la República ejercer la vigilancia de la gestión fiscal del Instituto de Investigaciones en Geociencias, Minería y Química, mediante reglamentación especial. Para ello se tendrá en cuenta la naturaleza de las funciones encomendadas al Instituto y la necesidad de que sus trabajos no sufran dilaciones, ni interrupciones injustificadas.
