º Denominación y naturaleza jurídica. El Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Geológico - Mineras (Ingeominas), creado por el Decreto extraordinario 3161 de 1968, se denominará en lo sucesivo Instituto de Investigaciones en Geociencias Minería y Química, continuará utilizando la sigla Ingeominas, conservará el carácter de establecimiento público del orden nacional, dotado de personería jurídica, patrimonio independiente y autonomía administrativa, adscrito al Ministerio de Minas y Energía.
