Por la ley, especial, o por decreto del Gobierno, se determinará en qué establecimiento se sufren las diferentes penas, pero en ningún caso pueden estar reunidos en un mismo departamento los condenados a reclusión, con los sujetos a prisión o arresto, ni mayores y menores de edad, ni personas de diferente sexo.
