Art. 5.° Una vez hecha la división territorial de que trata el artículo 1. ° de esta Ley, cada uno de los nuevos Departamentos elegirá, por medio de su Asamblea Departamental, únicamente un Senador. Los Departamentos que tengan más de ciento cincuenta mil habitantes elegirán dos Senadores.

Por cada Senador habrá dos suplentes, elegidos de la misma manera que el principal.
