El Registrador Nacional del Estado Civil será responsable ante la Sala de lo Criminal de la Corte Suprema de Justicia por sus actos u omisiones en el ejercicio de su cargo, conforme a la legislación vigente. La Corte juzgará al Registrador en una sola instancia, en Sala Plena, y podrá comisionar a cualquier funcionario del orden judicial para el diligenciamiento del sumario.
