En tiempo oportuno el alumno presenta al Rector el tema que haya elegido para tesis, con el objeto de que le designe como Presidente de ella a un Profesor en ejercicio. Las funciones éste son: indicar si el tema escogido da materia para un trabajo original o de aplicación importante; y sin imponer su voluntad al alumno, le aconseja y le guía cuanto sea posible prudentemente, en la confección de su tesis.
