Art. 17. Los asilados o emigrados que requeridos por la autoridad para retirarse de la frontera, lo verificaren dentro del término que se les ha señalado pueden elegir libremente el lugar de su residencia, observando la distancia prefijada en la notificación o requerimiento que se les hiciere; pero darán aviso de la elección del lugar a la autoridad requiriente y a la del en que van a residir.
