El trayecto de carretera en construcción entre Honda y Manizales, pasando por Mariquita, El Fresno y Soledad, es parte integrante de la vía nacional de Occidente que va de Bogotá a Istmina. Destínase para la terminación de esta obra la suma de cincuenta mil pesos ($ 50.000) anuales, que se incluirán en la Ley de Apropiaciones hasta su terminación.
