El Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística, DANE, realizará Censos de Población y Vivienda en las fechas que, mediante Decreto, señale el Gobierno Nacional. También podrá realizar, como parte del programa censal, encuestas de ampliación o para medir la cobertura del Censo.

El Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística, DANE, podrá realizar encuestas y censos experimentales, que servirán de base para el censo oficial. Sus resultados serán de carácter meramente informativo.
