Una vez adquirido por la Nación el Palacio del Marqués de, Valdehoyos, cuya compra fue ordenada por el artículo 36 de la Ley 163 de 1959 el Gobierno procederá a restaurarlo y alhajarlo en su esplendor original, para que sirva simultáneamente como residencia de los Cancilleres de Colombia en Cartagena y como Museo Colonial.
