Art. 31. El pórtero de la Academia será un naturalista preparador, i deberá vivir en el local de la Escuela de Ciencias i Artes, en la pieza que se le destinare al efecto. Sus obligaciones son: estar a las órdenes e inmediato servicio del Director; cuidar del aseo i conservacion del local; manejar las llaves para abrir i cerrar las puertas a sus horas; ayudar a la preparacion de los objetos de historia natural; observar i hacer que se observen las órdenes de réjimen interno que se establezcan, ejerciendo funciones de pasante; dirijir la correspondencia de la Academia i del Director del Instituto.
