El retiro del servicio de los empleados de carrera se produce por cualquiera de las causales determinadas en la Ley 909 de 2004 y conlleva el retiro de la carrera y la pérdida de los derechos inherentes a la misma, salvo los casos señalados en el artículo 42 de la citada ley, eventos en los cuales deberá efectuarse la anotación respectiva en el Registro Público de Carrera.
