La orientación del plano debe referirse al meridiano verdadero, mediante observaciones practicadas en el mismo terreno, y no por referencias de la declinación de las agujas magnéticas.

Las observaciones, métodos y cálculos que hayan servido para la determinación del meridiano verdadero deben aparecer en la cartera de apuntes.
