º . Corrección, modificación o alteración del registro civil de nacimiento . Cuando se pretenda corregir, modificar o alterar el registro civil de nacimiento ante autoridad competente, o en los casos de que esta deba hacerse por correo o ante autoridad distinta del lugar donde ocurrió el nacimiento, como lo establece el Decreto 158 de 1994, deberán seguirse las disposiciones del presente decreto.
