La mera ampliación del plazo de una deuda no constituye novación; pero pone fin a la responsabilidad de los fiadores i estingue las prendas e hipotecas constituidas sobre otros bienes que los del deudor; salvo que los fiadores o los dueños de las cosas empeñadas o hipotecadas accedan espresamente a la ampliación.
