Artículo primero. Naturaleza. El Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario es un Establecimiento Público, esto es, con personería jurídica, autonomía administrativa y patrimonio independiente, adscrito al Ministerio de Agricultura, que se organiza conforme a las normas establecidas por los Decretos 3116 de 1963 y 2420 de 1968, las reglamentarias de éste y las contenidas en los presentes Estatutos.

Parágrafo

Sigla. El Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario podrá usar la sigla ICA.
