Con el objeto de cambiarlas por las monedas de plata que actualmente circulan, Autorízase al Gobierno para emitir seis millones de pesos valor nominal en moneda fraccionaria, de los metales, aleación, peso, ley, denominación, dimensiones y fuerte o feble que se acuerden entre el Gobierno y la Junta Directiva del Banco de la República. Estas monedas y las de níquel actualmente existente tendrán un poder liberatorio limitado a diez pesos ($ 10) en cada transacción.
