La pena de prisión que se imponga por un solo delito puede durar desde tres días hasta diez y ocho años, y se sufrirá en establecimientos especiales o en departamentos separados de los que existan para el castigo de los reclusos, con obligación de trabajar según las aptitudes del condenado.
