La afiliación al sistema general de Seguridad Social en salud es independiente de la afiliación al Sistema general de Pensiones y al Régimen de Riesgos Profesionales. De acuerdo con lo establecido en la Ley 100 de 1993, cada afiliado podrá seleccionar la Entidad Promotora de Salud a la cual desea estar vinculado. Esta sección solo podrá efectuarse a partir del momento en que d Sistema General de Seguridad Social en Salud se encuentre en plena operación, conforme a lo señalado en el artículo anterior.
