Cada Congresista en ejercicio tendrá un asistente más, que ejercerá sus funciones en la Oficina asignada a éste en el Capitolio y será de libre nombramiento y remoción del Director Administrativo de cada Cámara a solicitud escrita del respectivo Senador o Representante; este Asistente tendrá la Categoría I de acuerdo a la Ley 52 de 1978 .
