Para el ascenso de los Oficiales del Cuerpo General y Cuerpo General Especial de la Armada, se exige como requisito especial un tiempo mínimo de embarque de la mitad del tiempo de servicio en cada grado, hasta el grado de Capitán de Corbeta, inclusive.

Parágrafo

Quedan exentos de este requisito los Tenientes de Navío y los Capitanes de Corbeta que con anterioridad a la vigencia de la presente Ley tengan tres (3) o más años de antigüedad en el grado.
