La Rama Ejecutiva determinará y reglamentará el sistema de agotamiento, bien a base de estimación técnica de costo de unidades de operación, o bien a base de porcentaje fijo. El contribuyente podrá elegir el sistema para calcular el agotamiento, escogida una de las dos bases, sólo podrá cambiarla por una sola vez con autorización del Jefe de Rentas e Impuestos Nacionales.
