Los funcionarios que pertenezcan a la Carrera Administrativa, que fueren promovidos a cargos en el exterior no dejarán de pertenecer a ella ni perderán derecho alguno por tal designación, siempre y cuando su permanencia no sea mayor a cuatro (4) años.

Parágrafo 1

El funcionario de Carrera Administrativa que regrese del servicio exterior, deberá ser nombrado en un cargo de igual categoría al que tenía en el momento de su promoción al exterior.

Parágrafo 2

En todo caso el funcionario de Carrera Administrativa que haya sido promovido a un cargo en el exterior, deberá solicitar por escrito con un mínimo de seis (6) meses de anticipación su traslado a la planta interna.
