Los guardianes municipales o departamentales que hagan solicitud ante el Director General de Prisiones, podrán ingresar al Cuerpo de Custodia y Vigilancia Penitenciaria Nacional, siempre y cuando sean calificados favorablemente por el Director del establecimiento carcelario correspondiente, lleven más de cinco (5) años de servicio, no superen los cuarenta (40) años de edad, sean aceptados por la Dirección General de Prisiones y haya la vacante.
