Profesor emérito. Para ser profesor emérito de la Policía Nacional, se requiere: a) Haberse desempeñado como profesor escalafonado de primera categoría en la Academia Superior de Policía o en el Curso de Altos Estudios Policiales; c) Ser propuesto por el Director del Centro de Estudios Superiores de la Policía, o por el Director de la Escuela de Cadetes de Policía "General Santander" con aprobación del Director General de la Policía Nacional.
