Durante la selección de los sitios de almacenamiento deberá evitarse el depósito de estériles sobre zonas susceptibles de ser explotadas. La capa vegetal del área seleccionada deberá ser retirada y almacenada en un lugar diferente, con el fin de utilizarla posteriormente para la restauración de suelos afectados por la actividad minera.
