Por solicitud del interesado, elevada por conducto del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, el Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad, DAS, expedirá en forma gratuita al solicitante que se encuentre ilegalmente en el país, un salvoconducto válido por tres (3) meses, que permita su permanencia en el territorio nacional, mientras se resuelve la solicitud. El salvoconducto podrá prorrogarse a petición del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, por un término no mayor al doble del inicial.
