ARTICULO 1o. Naturaleza. - El Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario, ICA, creado y organizado conforme a los Decretos 1562 de 1962, 3116 de 1963, 2420 y 3120 de 1968, 133 de 1976 y 501 de 1989, es un establecimiento público del orden nacional, con personería jurídica, autonomía administrativa y patrimonio independiente, adscrito al Ministerio de Agricultura y perteneciente al Sistema Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología.
