Toda solicitud de prórroga del período de exploración deberá presentarse al Ministerio de Minas y Petróleos por lo menos treinta (30) días antes de la fecha del vencimiento del período precedente. Si transcurridos sesenta (60) días a partir de esta misma fecha, el Ministerio no hubiere dictado resolución definitiva al respecto, se considerará concedida la prórroga. Es entendido que cuando el Ministerio considere necesario completar la documentación y pruebas de que trata el artículo anterior, este término sólo se contará a partir de la fecha en que el interesado cumpla lo ordenado al respecto.
