Vencido el plazo para la prestación del servicio, señalado por el Superintendente de Servicios Públicos Domiciliarios en la invitación, la empresa operadora entregará el servicio y los bienes al municipio o a la empresa que éste indique, para que garantice la continuidad en la prestación del servicio público domiciliario.
