Comisiones del Servicio . Los empleados públicos del Ministerio de Defensa y de la Policía Nacional pueden ser destinados en comisión del servicio con el fin de ejecutar determinados actos, ejercer ciertas funciones dentro de la institución o fuera de ella, adelantar estudios, someterse a tratamiento médico y representar al Ministerio de Defensa, a la Policía Nacional o al Gobierno en reuniones o ceremonias de interés profesional o general, tanto dentro del país como en el exterior.
