Corresponde al Fiscal General de la Nación o a su delegado, la dirección y coordinación técnica, funcional, operativa y jurídica de los actos de investigación que desarrolla la policía judicial, los cuales serán el producto de una planeación previa y coordinada entre el fiscal y el investigador, para el cumplimiento de los fines que le son propios a la fase inicial.
