El Comandante de Batallón o Grupo encuadrado es el intermediario entre el Regimiento y las Compañías, Escuadrones y Baterías. En la instrucción le corresponde la de la Unidad constituida y la ejecución de las disposiciones dadas por el Comandante de Regimiento. Su acción con respecto a las Unidades subordinadas se refiere a la vigilancia que sobre ellas debe ejercer, pero intervendrá solamente cuando note abusos o faltas en la instrucción y servicios.
