Autonomía e Independencia . La coordinación y el ejercicio de las funciones especiales de Policía Judicial para la vigilancia y el control fiscal en todas sus modalidades, estará a cargo del Contralor General de la República y el desempeño de estas se realizará de manera autónoma e independiente. Lo anterior, sin perjuicio de las atribuciones ordinarias de Policía Judicial para la investigación penal y otros efectos, ya reconocidas en la ley a la Contraloría General de la República.
