ARTICULO 82. ASCENSO DE LOS PROFESIONALES OFICIALES DE LA RESERVA. Los Profesionales Oficiales de la Reserva que hayan adquirido tal calidad, podrán ascender hasta el grado de Coronel. Los grados conferidos a los Profesionales Oficiales de la Reserva son honoríficos, por consiguiente no generan obligaciones prestacionales para la institución policial y no implican mando ni autoridad sobre el personal en servicio activo.
