La presente ley tiene por objeto fortalecer y consolidar a la Comunidad Lactante y a su red de apoyo . Además de orientar las acciones para salvaguardar el derecho a la salud de las madres, de los niños y las niñas menores de 3 años, y el derecho a la Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutricional de la primera infancia por medio de la promoción de la práctica de la lactancia materna en el territorio nacional.
