En homenaje a su memoria, la Nación construirá en Sogamoso, ciudad natal del insigne parlamentario desaparecido, el edificio donde funcionará un Instituto de Bachillerato Técnico, que se denominará Colegio Nacional "Gustavo Jiménez", cuya organización y sostenimiento, estarán a cargo de la Nación.
