En homenaje a la memoria del distinguido colombiano, la Nación pavimentará el sector de la Troncal Occidental, comprendido entre las ciudades de Sincelejo y Corozal, tierra natal esta última del extinto. Las especificaciones de esta vía, de dos calzadas, las determinará el Ministerio de Obras Públicas, y llevará por nombre "Autopista Aníbal Badel".
