El optómetra deberá atender con prontitud a los pacientes que le sean remitidos por otros colegas y deberá remitirlos de regreso con informes completos sobre los exámenes practicados y los diagnósticos obtenidos. La formulación y disposición final del caso remitido deberá hacerlos siempre el optómetra remitente, salvo que en la nota de remisión se especifique o se autorice al optómetra destinatario para que realice estos actos.
