ART 172. Los que cometieren el delito de raer ó cercenar monedas extranjeras de cobre ú otros metales, que no sean oro ni plata, que circulen legalmente en el territorio de Colombia, ó que de cualquiera otro modo disminuyan su legítimo valor, sufrirán la pena de seis á diez y ocho meses de presidio, y una multa de veinticinco á cien pesos.

Los que sabiendo que se ha cometido este delito introdujeren dichas monedas ó contribuyeren á su introducción, expendio ó circulación, sufrirán la pena de cuatro meses á un año de presidio, con igual multa.
