El Poder Ejecutivo ordenará que se esculpa en mármol el busto del General Gutiérrez, y lo hará colocar sobre la tumba donde reposan los despojos del gran ciudadano en el cementerio de la capital, con esta inscripción en la base:
"La República a Santos Gutiérrez."
