° La Distinción Nacional del Medio Ambiente que por este Decreto se establece, podrá conferirse en las siguientes modalidades. Distinción a la vida y obra en pro del conocimiento, protección y conservación del medio ambiente; distinción a un proyecto de conservación en pro del medio ambiente, y distinción a un proyecto de fomento de participación comunitaria en la gestión ambiental.
